Promoting Social-Emotional Competence: Managing and Improving Performance

Promoting Social-Emotional Competence: Managing Behaviors and Improving Performance is an eight week course that trains adults in how to increase social-emotional competence (SEC) in children, including interpersonal and learning-related social skills, and in how to reduce problem behaviors by applying Mariposa's skills-based model. Participants learn the basic concepts of social-emotional competence, the research-proven intellectual basis for Mariposa's approach to promoting SEC in students, and the framework for applying Mariposa's approach. Building on this foundation, participants are trained in the five basic skills incorporated in the framework and in techniques to apply these skills to real-world situations.

This course is an extraordinary opportunity to learn the 5 key skills that can make a great impact on children’s lives. For a low price, participants will have the chance to take the course with Mariposa’s lead instructors, Dr. Anne Townsend and Dr. Harriette Wimms.
